I have a little play in my steering wheel. It's not too noticable at city speed but on the highway it's definitely an issue.
Where should I start looking to find the problem?

I would start at your Tie rods for the PLAY. and double check the shaft of your steering column.. what does it do shake? side to side? vibrate. car goes one direction?
hes talking about steering wheel play, meaning the wheel has alot of play before the wheels respond. well ive never had that on a car, but on my diesel i adjust the U joints when that happens.
yeah check your U-Joint(s) or the Yoke(s) when I get that in my truck ususally i just have to tighten a few nuts and its good to go.
no its probablly the tie rods. What U-joints are you talking about?? The ones on the steering shaft between the column and steering gear?? Those aren't ever a problem on anything I've ever worked on
Yah my suggestion would be to check the outer tie rod ends. I've done allot of em on lt1 cars.
Thanks for the tip. I'll check them this weekend and report what I find.
Intermdiate steering shaft could be it that would give you play but I think it would knock a little
Also try replacing that ragjoint with an actual metal one. Those wear out also.
I have the same problem with my TA. And it is the outer tie rods.
Oops I forgot to update this. It is indeed the tie rods. Good call guys and thanks for the help!
the LT1 cars have a rag joint for the steering column. if you still have some play after doing the tie rod ends, look into replacing that. there is a company that makes a solid aluminum replacement for the rubber insert.
the LS1 steering shaft has u-joints.
