THE unit cost me $40 i will take it back if i have to pull the intake, that is stupid.
You don't have to remove the intake but it is much easier. Honestly, it isn't that hard to remove it. My first time it took two hours now I an down to taking it out and installed in about 30 minutes or so.
no need to pull intake just make sure you bought the socket to replace it..
when doing my LS1 to LS6 intake swap i broke mine then while re-installing intake i broke the new one!! LOL:sillyme:
i took it back and they gave me a replacement and i installed that one in like 10mins
I broke mine and I didn't need a socket it turned by hand. I just used two fingers in the whole and turned it.
job is much easier with intake off.....pulling the intake isn't that bad at all. I'd much rather pull the intake than do the brakes or something like that.
Pulling the intake is a piece of cake.
Fuel rails pop right out and can be laid off to the side without disconnecting the fuel line.
It's a dry intake so no antifreeze to deal with. Lift it up and out, probably only weighs 3 lbs. It's the easiest intake on an engine I've ever pulled, no water, no gaskets or gasket sealant to mess with, really just all around easy,,,,did I say it was easy? :D
I'd much rather pull the intake than try to fit my arms under the cowl.
Just pull the intake and be done with it. You can't screw anything up because there is nothing to screw up.
