the rear seat panels are 6 3/4" speakers. the back panels are a 4" speaker with a small tweater by it. The 4" speakers have rivets on them. You need to drill these out to remove the speaker. you will need bolts and nuts or new rivets for the 4" speaker instalation.
Ok but do you know what brand of speakers is a good a direct fit? And the back panels are 4" speakers i thonght they were the same size as the sail speakers?
Well as far as brands I used pioneer, kenwood and JL in my cars. In my TA i have all speakers pioneer, my sub is a JL and my receiver is kenwood.
Now are you refering to the back panels as the ones by the rear seats? if you are then yes they are the same size as the front's.
The ones in the trunk area(the small removable plastic pieces on each side) are 4".
I thought the door and rear seat speakers were 6 1/2" ??
They are 6.5" and the sails are subs :yup:
You're not going to find a 'good' direct fit with popular brands. At least not for the subs or fronts speakers. Fronts have 2 sets of wires going to them. One set is for Low/mid only and the other is for highs only. you have to seperate them.. I went ahead and had tweeter pods put on the top of my doors and that took care of that issue.
For our Camaros...
2 ohm mids and subs and 4 ohm tweeters mounted coaxially in the door. 4 ohm in the hatch. Oh, and wanted to add that 4 ohm for the doors is fine. But, the mids are powered off the amp at 2 ohm and the tweeters off the HU at 4 ohm.
As far as speaker sizes they are as follows:
Front door-5 1/2 to 6 1/2 Need adapter rings with most speakers but some do not. 6 ½ fit better.
Sail panel- 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 with adapter ring again some 6 1/2's will fit without.
Hatch area- 4" and yes, they can be a pain to get out :p
You guys are right. They are 6 1/2. That's what I have in mine.
