What springs to use with 1.85 Rockers STOCK LS1??

My Z has 125k miles on it so the springs are definitely tired anyways. I picked up some 1.8 roller rockers and want to put them on soon. What replacement valve springs do you guys reccomend? Any GM springs? I think i read ls6 springs would work? I read crane reccomended changing springs even new stock springs since these rockers would cause float. I know I need stiffer but how much??

If anyone has done the mod would be cool to know what length pushrods too. These are the Crane 1.8 full roller rockers.

why did you change ?

you know you will now be limited on your cam selection as you have increased the lift and now valve clearance will be a concern on anything not stock. what you should have done, is go with harland sharp stock 1.7s and got the comp cams 918 springs..to keep your stock geometry.

Comp 26918's will work ! Stockers will float out quicker with the 1.8's...

COMP 26918 or PAC 28-1518 would work nicely.

I am running the Crane 1.8s with the full pushrod package, Z06 cam, and Comp 918s. No problems, great daily driver. 11.95@114.

Very cool. so 918s seem to be enough then? Are they single beehives? i'll have to dig into it. I wont be putting a cam in this sucker. if I ever do , it will be a 400+ ci buildup so I can go back to stock then. For now this is a much more cost effective mod than a mild cam. labor quotes I got with all the associated parts for a cam swap are rediculous vs installing 1.8s.

I did the rockers first, then the cam and springs. They are single beehive, it is time for new springs anyway.:usa:

Very cool. Going to find out about 918s and some pushrods. 114 mph is smoking for a bolt on!! Have head work too?

The pass was a one shot wonder. Long tubes, 4400 stall, street slicks. I have the shorties and cats back on now, and the stock stall. Lots of other bolt-ons, an electric water pump etc. I would be lucky to get into the 12s now. It was one try to say I have an 11 second car.

Will these work? Ive been told 918s would be good but these sound like an equivalent.

Also The 'kit' for the crane gold 1.8 roller rockers included crane pushrods. they were 7.250. Someone local is selling 7.300 pushrods for pretty cheap and theyre new in a sealed box. is .050 critical for pushrods on a hydraulic roller? I figure if 2 turns is what they call for I can go 1 3/4 since the pushrod is a tad longer and geometry should be close.

There's a chance that you might need valve cover spacers to clear the rocker arms. Or a little work done on the inside of them...

No cam at all. Just rockers and freshening springs. I'll wait till I have to rebuild / freshen the bottom end then probably go heads and cam.
