sticky accelerator pedal
my accelerator pedal starts feeling "sticky" after i drive a while, it works, but i have to push a bit more to move it. it returns to idle with no noticeable delay, only when i start from a stop, or when i held it in one position and then accelerate, it feels like it's stuck and then "breaks free".
dry cable maybe? any other ideas?

Try cleaning the throttle body ,the blade made be sticking due to carbon build-up

When mine stuck I cleaned out the TB and I put a small dab of WD-40 on the cable.
-
Yeah I think a gumed up TB will be the cause.
-
sounds like i got a project for next weekend or so... do i need to pull out the tb, or just clean it from the front opening?
-
don't have to take the tb off.get a rag and some carb cleaner, hold it open and clean it from the front...should take you about ten minutes...all you have to do is remove the bellows between the air lid and tb.

sounds easy enough!
-
Yeah pretty easy. If you have the time, taking it off and giving it a REAL good cleaning will not hurt.
-
no more jumpy takeoffs!
i just cleaned the throttle body, lot's of black gunk around the rim of the blade. didn't have the time to take the whole thing apart, so i just pulled off the bellow and cleaned it from the front with multi-purpose cleaner. did not spray anything in there directly, of course. but i got it pretty clean, and the accelerator feels nice and smooth again. thanks for the input everyone!
