how can you tell the difference (visually) between the two?
also how can you tell if a lifter is bad when looking at it
I have bad lifters and I am buying a set of used LS7s (used on a dyno motor only) and i want to be sure i am buying what im being told im buying and that they are in good shape

The ls1 lifter part number is referenced as the LS7. It would be very hard to buy new actual LS1 lifters.
BUT, remember to change to 7.350 pushrod length because the LS7 lifter is LONGER than the stock lifter......you will need to make up for this difference....
The LS7 lifter is not longer than the LS1, On the outside they measure the same overall length, the difference is in the cup height, the LS7 lifter cup is Higher in the bore than the LS1s. So jb3 ia correct, your pushrod length will be different.Quote:

That is why I asked you :lol: if you changed your pushrod length. I bought a pushrod checker to see what my length will be. I wish it came with directions though.Quote:
