Driver Side Power Window

My drivers side window has all of a sudden had a mind of its own. It will roll up sometimes. It will roll down sometimes. Sometimes it will stop rolling up or down and after I drive for a bit or turn the car on or off it will then roll up and down partially again. Sometimes it seems slow and sometimes it is normal. But rarely can I get it to roll completly up or down. Has anyone ever had this happen to them before and have any insight for me ? Is it a motor issue or could it possibly be in addition to a grounding issue that I am having with my drivers side parking light and passenger rear brake/running lights ?

I am not having any problems with my radio its jus my drivers window and my parking lights. Do u still think it has something to do with my BCM ?

So let me get this straight. Your driver's window rolls up and down by itself without you touching the switch? if so, then its most likely the switch itself is internally shorted or the power window control module is faulty. That module is for the automatic express down feature for the LF window.

No it dont roll up and down by itself. What I am trying to say is that when I press down 2 roll the window down it will go down a couple of inches then stop and wont go up or down until after a lil while of driving or sitting then it will move a few more inches when I press the button. Sometimes I will get lucky and it will completly roll down or up while I am holding the the switch down or up. Its crazy I read in another thread that it could be the motor or the switch. I just dont want to go tearn into nething I dont have to. It is jus that I am having a electrical nightmare lately with this car. The parking lights are acting up the rear running lights are acting up now the window is. Before that I had to replace my headlight motor and I have seen some crazy codes pop up on my Moonsoon radio screen. It looks like a bunch of Jibbirish

I retract my previous statement about the windows/BCM relationship. The BCM powers up the 'Power Windows' circuit breaker, so there is a possbility there. But since this only seems to be affecting the driver's window and sometimes it works ok, I think you have a switch problem.

I bought a new switch today and installed it. Its still acting up so that eliminates the switch problem. Thanks for the info though. It was pretty easy to install and I can return it to AutoZone. No biggie. So now i get to get into the dreaded motor replacement but first I think I am going to pull the BCM and check that out.

Will do. Not a problem. I hope it is something easy as that. Where would be a good place to pick up a solder gun ?

I would use no more than a 25 watt on any circuit board.

Radio Shack, Walmart, K-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes

YW. Thats what the site is for and not arguing...

There is not really that much that can go wrong. Their is only so many components and you can always narrow something down.

Most people just dont think the BCM would cause problems because its not that common.

i have already replaced my d/s power window motor and am going to do the passengerside..but i thought i read somewhere that they are actually underpowered and that is why the motors go out so fast on em..that and they are a PITA to get to with ogre mitts....

+2 had problems with my BCM, windows would just quit, radio would flicker, wipers would not go down. Replaced the BCM, no more problems.:thumbup:

Solder your old BCM. Its still good :)
