Hey quick ? My friend told me that the stainless puts out alot more heat then I'm going to want in the future. I ordered stainless in stead of ceramic... I could always just rap the headers if heat ever becomes an issue right?

yes you could rap them if you like but you shouldnt need to. ss is going to last a longer time them ceramic will.
Even the coating on those headers eventually come off over time and begin to rust, stainless is the best route
good choice
Thanks for reassuring me guys :) I cant wait to put them on :leghump:
Just ceramic coat the ss headers, the best of both. That's what I did.
ceramic coated ss is the way to go. if the ceramic is done right on a set os regular steel headers it can last just as long if it is not scraped up. We have a ceramic that is good for up to 1600*.
Stainless is a good way to go, but I will have to fall in line with all of those who ceramic coated their headers (stainless or not). As far as a thermal barrier, ceramic is best, in fact ceramic coating is listed as a thermal barrier, the look of ceramic coating is just a side benifit.
ehhhh forget it i'm just going to put them on and enjoy them.. I already bought them oh well....
Hey man, like you said at first, you can always wrap um once they are in the car if heat becomes a problem. No biggie right! Im sure you will enjoy them either way. I dont think heat will be a problem for you anyhow. Heat sink will help overall performance of the engine, but compared to other modifications heat sink is minimal.
You won't need to wrap them. I know prolly a dozen guys (myself included) with ss headers, no wrap and no problem. Stainless retains heat better than mild steel to begin with. As for ceramic coated, I've never seen a set that didn't start rusting after a few years.
I agree if you want ceramic do that to the stainless, cant go wrong with stainless, lifetime garantee all the way,you can get 2000deg coatings for them.here is a shot of mine SWLT with 2000deg red...http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...5/DSC02857.jpg
Thats the ticket right there QWK.
Yeah I'm puttin them on before 1st weekend in april (track opens) Cars still stock besides the headers and Y were putting on. Best time last year was a 13.19. but consistant 13.3's I'm looking forward to see the performance diffrence hoping for a couple tenths not to mention great sound :)
are you planing to get it tuned also? it would be a good idea after the install
I dont know yet...... Wont the LT's and ORY screw with the AF's? I was going to wait for the 92/92 FAST LSX set up 1st before I tune it. I wont have the money for that for a while prob 6-9 months damnit :(
depends on whether your taking it to someone to have tuned or doing the mail-order tunes and just sening it off. few of the places you can just send off to offer 1 year free updates. so, if/when you got that intake just send it back.
