Yank 3600
do you have one on ur car? if so what kind of gains did you get out of it?
Yeah I do have one on my car, haven't ran it yet but I've been told anywhere from .5 to .7 in the quarter mile. It really will wake your car up.
wow thats a big difference just for that... guess I need to do more research and see what I can find and compare everything.... thanks for the info
From what I've seen, Yank and Vigilante seem to be a couple of the top companies. You might want to search the automatic section for more info and other people's opinions though.
okay thanks... gotta find my way to it... LOL don't hang out here to often
spend the extra money and get a yank. trust me!
There is a little more involed then just a converter, you will need an aftermarket transmission cooler (B&M 24K), a TranGo shift kit.
Some other things you may want to consider is a deeper transmission pan, and a TCI SF29 race grade flexplate (if your vehicle is an 01 or 02).
With a stall of 3600, you will need to have the computer settings modified for TM, shift points, idle (depending on OD of the TC), misfires. You will need to have this done on a dyno, for I do not believe a hand held device will ever get it right.
Just some things to consider.
SteveC :)
I just had a 3000 stall put in mine and now it seems the shift points are off and it is misfireing at WOT, I should hve read this first. Now I have a new trans but can't drive fast.
I gave Fuddle a shot after Orion had recommended and had good luck with them. They were a sponsor here at one time and I think recently took on new management.
Anyway, I received mine and installed it. Great converter so far. Although I have a track record of my car with various mods,,,I cannot comment on the improvement of the converter at the track as of yet,,,I still need to install a trans cooler so I am refraining from any track time until then.
I did have to go into the tune and lower the engine misfire settings,,,that was it. Didn't need to change any shift points at all,,,a sign of a good converter that isn't blowing through the shift points. May be a different story though as the engine makes more power.
