The car does not feel the same now, when im going down the road in a stright line an gve it gas it wants to pull to the left or right real hard, an when i take off from a red light easy it feels likt the rear is wasnting to move around like its lose, i pulled it in the grage an everything was nice an tight? does it act like this because of the locker? or is something wrong

Did you get an adjustable panhard bar and torque arm? If not, you may want to look into one or both.. Or if you do they may need adjusted some..

could be your pinion angle, so an adj torque arm would help that.

You might need the lightest weight gear oil you can find. It's cold out. Read page 13 in this manual.

what oil do u think would work? 70 weight or would u go lighter yet... that does make sense it felt like it was not locking like it was putting more power to 1 wheel

Hey Buddy, I got the locker too its perfectly fine. You just need to make sure the pinion angle right. And make sure it's 80w-90 gear oil non synthetic in that center section. Also that banging feeling you get from gear to gear and loose feeling is the center section. It has 240* of rotation/play. If you were auto it wouldn't be so bad. B/c in an auto the DS it always pushing against the yoke so you wouldn't get that clanking as much. Just in the turns you experience this bc of the 90* angled gears that are in there. But if your M6 like me you'll hear banging and clanking between every gear. (it calms down if you double clutch tho.) As for the turns in an M6, coast around them!!!!! Keep clutch pressed. See these lockers are meant for "track use" majority of the time and some street use. it's basically a 90/10 ratio. I hated it, still kind of do, but now I'm used to it. They do plant and just wanna go. They are awesome rears, just not for me.
The only thing(s) I would suggest is to...1) buy an Adj. T/A, 2) buy poly bushing for tranny & you might as well get one for the motor while your at it. Cuz if you brace the tranny the twisting is gonna go to the next best thing the motor 3) get your DS rebalanced and rebuilt with new 1350 u-joints by a DS Specialist. This is what I did and it's worth every penny trust me. Mine done, it had cost me $140. If your in/around PA send me a pm and I'll give you the number to him. He's a good guy and knows his shit. He's been doing it for 30 years. If your not look up some heavy duty truck shops that deal with trans's of a big rig. Cuz they'll know. LOL Put it this way they gotta build some heavy duty shit if it can handle pulling 1000's of pounds, then they can rebuild our week POS DS's to better with stand the torque thrown at it. Atleast that's what I figured and workout out beautifully for me.
I don't know if the majority of ppl know this or not, but our DS's are balanced by computers/machines, so they can't tell if it's "bowed/warped" just that it's..... well balanced.
Example, mine...it had a 1/4" of warping at the top and bottom as it spun on the machine, but showed up on a computer/machine that it was perfectly fine and balanced. you could see it and that it wasn't supposed to be like that.
The majority of the mechanics that you would bring your shaft to will just throw it on the machine and call it a day. Their not paying attention the the curvedness of the driveshaft itself, just that it shows up that it is balanced or not. So trust me its well worth money. I'd pay that over taking the risk of snapping it and forking out $699 for a new at sphon or something. Just my $.02
Aslo when moser tells you the part number for the DS u-joint it's wrong. Let me Explain!!!!! The part is right but not the material isn't. Bc our DS are aluminum, they require a certain type of metal. B/c the other one will either rust or corrode it in someway. I forget what metal it is. Also I don't remember the correct part number either. But I will find out for you!!! Just good to have. Plus I may need it again sometime later in life anyway. You never kno!!!
I take you f'd up like I did and didn't do your homework and went with a rear cuz it's good!!! LoL Should've went with the "wavelock"!! HuH? Cuz I think so!!! LoL Welp what can ya do live&learn!!! It "WILL" definitely be the next thing I'm buying after my engine rebuild. That's for sure

He already has an adjustable TA.
Your pinion angle should not be set to +3 degrees...this could be a big problem. Most are set-up at -2 degrees for drag racing applications. This could vary depending on the exact set-up, but it is the norm. So you're off by 5 degrees, which is A LOT. Launching the car with a pinion angle off like this could cause some serious drive train issues.
PS Egan - It's called a Wavetrac, not a Wavelock
