02 Z-71 Suburban Need More Tq & Hp
I HAVE A 2002 SUBURBAN Z-71 WITH A 5.3 LITTER... I HAVE SOME BOLT ON MODS THINKING ON MAKING A LOT OF POWER... IT HAS SOME POWER ALSO HAS SOME PROBLEMS... IN ALMOST EVER START THE TRUCK WILL MISS ON IDLE UNTIL YOU REV THE ENGINE HARD AND THEN IT WILL STOP THE MISS AND IDLE NORMAL...

I Also Been Looking At The Vhp Cams
080 And 112 But Do Not Know What Cam Will Be A Better All Around Cam To Do Pulling And Have Fun...
Has Eny Tried This Cams On Trucks...
Eny Idea Of Hp Ratings With Cam Only... Thanks

well first off, get a CAI, i personally love the new brute force from AEM , ditch the k&n and it prolly would be a good idea to out the screen back on the maf as it straightens out the air for a more accurate reading to the ecu. get a catback and if you wanna spend the money- a kenne bell twin screw.

Also To Incude To My List I Change Out The Stock Muffler For A Hooker Areo Chambered Muffler... I Thinking Of Making It With 2 Areo Chambered Mufflers And H-pipe 3"..., Instead Of One 3"...

i have a 01 sub, with a built trans, exhaust, cai, detroit truetrac, and a tune. the tune and trans made the biggest difference. i can bark 2nd on dry roads every time i gas it. and thats both tires. in the rain i can spin all 4 tires off the line. a tune will really liven up the 5.3, and firm up the shifts. you lose alot of time in between shifts

YA I BEEN TOLD TO GET RID OF THE HAND HELD AND GO WITH A TUNE LIKE NELSON OR WAIT4ME... I HAVE PUT THE SERVOS ON THE TRANS AND EVER NOW AND THEN I CAN BRAKE A LITE SPIN ON 2ND PLUS I GET A VERY FIRM SHIFT... I LIKE THE IMPROVE MENT THAT THE FAIR BANK SERVOS DID. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS BETTER TO DRIVE UP TO SAN ANTOINO,TX AND GET IT TUNED OR JUST ODER IT BY MAIL...

you'll get more out of a live tune tune...
if you're lookin to swap motors, see if you can find a wrecked 3/4 ton with a lq4 6.0, slap it in, with a 212/218 high or low lift comp cam. should have loads of torque for pullin that trailer

reading your list of mods above, i would change a few things
AIR AID T.B. SPACER-doesn't give you any gain but makes a cool whistle-sell it
AIR AID INTAKE TUBE-prolly will work-not much to be gained from a "good" CAI
KN AIR FILTER WITH STOCK AIR BOX
ELD SHORTY HEADERS-not any better hp wise the stock manifolds-sell and get some lt's
NJK TR55 PLUGS-ok
DIABLO SPORT TURNER AND TUNED-sell it and get atleast mail order tune
160' THERMOSTAT-prolly hurting your gas mileage a little-stock would prolly be fine for your app
B&M TRANS COOLER WITH FAN-the bigger the better
FAIRBANKS SUPERIOR SERVOS WITH POWER VALVE...

THE BIG IDEA IS THERE OUT THERE FOR YOUR MONEY AND TO SEE WHO GETS IT FIRST...
YOU CAN MAKE MANY BAD JUDGMENTS WITH PERFORMACE PRODUCTS... OF COURSE THERE IS NO LIMIT TO PERFORMACE, YOU MAKE IT TO STEP # 1 AND THEN YOU WHAT TO JUMP TO STEP # 3 AND SOME THING IS ALWAY WRONG...
