push rod diameter
anyone know the dia. of the push rods for a 98 z-28 ls1. 5/16 or 3/8?
please help!!!!

Believe the stock ones are 5/16. I questioned whether or not to go with the 3/8 ones when I did my heads and cam in my first T/A. I was told the 5/16 ones are better because of the less weight and the extra strength is not needed until you have a LOT of mods. My $0.02.

I used to always go with the smaller pushrods to save weight but for high RPM applications (6000 and up) I usually go with 3/8 if I can because there is a lot of deflection in the smaller pushrods; even on the heavy wall versions. The extra weight is offset by the better stability and the fact that you are getting more of your valve lift back.

stock is 5/16.
