What is the purpose of revalving the bilsteins when lowering?
I am thinking of getting the BMR springs because they are progressive and lower the car only ~1inch. I want to do bilsteins with it, but I always hear they need to be revalved. Would this be only to stiffen them up since travel is reduced? With the progressive springs would I still greatly benefit from that? And when revalving the travel remains the same correct?

Revalves are to dampen your springs correctly. It sounds like Strano can revalve the Bilsteins to match most springs.
It will make the strut/shock last longer, and make the ride better.
You basic Bilstein HD is designed for the stock springs. Drastic improvement over the stock strut/shocks though. But the spring rates of aftermarket springs is higher, this putting more stress on the shocks.
Hope that makes sense.

True, however the lowest rate on the BMR front spring is 310 lbs/in, whereas stock is 292. I can't think of a way to valve the shocks such that they would match a progressive rated spring, so would Strano just stiffen up the rebound to account for the 550 lbs/in maximum rate on the fronts? I am considering leaving my rear springs and installing the bilsteins if it will not look goofy to have only the front lowered 1". And wouldn't lowering the car lose travel that stock length shocks would not account for, is this not a concernable issue? BTW, how much does strano charge to revalve the shocks?

I have BMR springs with Bilstein HD shocks. I think the ride and handling is great. I don't think the revalved shocks are a necessity with only a 1" drop. But I'm no expert.
