this should help. the top link is the install and the second is for the drill mod which should help out with the 2-3 shift. since you have a 98, i would recommend changing out your master and slave cylinders while you're at it. there are a few companies out there who make adjustable master cylinders. they are a bit more expensive but they really help especially with the ls7 clutch. just adjust it very high at first, then lower it when the clutch breaks in because it will move alot. if you have a couple friends to help you hold the tranny when you're removing it and again when you're putting it back in, that's probably the easiest way to go. if you're good with a transmission jack, you should be fine though...just a bit more hassle. oh and for the pilot bearing, i think the best way to do it is to get a drill bit a little smaller than the outer diameter of the bearing and drill it out. then you can pry out all of the rest of the bearing. just don't mar that part of your engine block. have fun and good luck.

You did pick up a new bearing, LS2 flywheel, and new bolts right? DO NOT use anything but the correct bolts on the Pressure Plate. They are shouldered. Get a Haynes manual and it will help you a bunch. Pulling the T-56 isn't fun at all, but it is perfectly do-able. If at all possible, get a buddy to help, that trans is VERY heavy. It isn't much, but I do have a little write up on pulling the trans....
