****URGENT HELP REQUESTED****Fuel In EXHAUST****
I Recently completed my LS Conversion wiring and went to start my dad's 1967 Olds Cutlass with 4.8LS (Engine from 2003 Chevy Silverado) Conversion and smelled fuel, I luckily had the exhaust and headers separated.
I saw fuel spraying out of the passenger side of the header. I Swapped injectors for Cylinder #4 & #6 after smelling fuel on the plugs. I restarted the engine and the fuel still leaked unburned raw fuel.
Any Ideas on how I should fix?
Thank you in advance for ANY help.
John

Are these new injectors or came with the engine?
Is this the same ecm that came with the engine or a different one? If different one did it get a tune installed to adjust for the engine requirements? For example a 5.7/6.0 ecm tune will be greatly different for a 4.8.
Once you figure out why you have so much fuel in the cylinders fix, check your oil. If you flood the cylinder enough you can thin the oil to the point it can cause serious issues like wipe the cylinder walls (ring failure) wipe the bearings etc...http://www.ls1.com/forums/f7/my-6-liter-build-174257/

Injector is either stuck open or you have a wiring issue.

That's what I was trying to get to.
Is it just one cylinder or all of them?

Primer- 1967 Cutlass
Hello All,
So after a great deal of research, I was able to resolve the fuel in my combustion chambers and out through my exhaust. When installing a truck engine into any vehicle, its critical to know if the engine fuel rails have a return to the tank line. Plus while the engine is out and being prepared to be installed, replace the inline fuel regulator, which i on the driver's side of the fuel rail. Plus, I installed the Corvette external fuel pump which is already regulated. So If installing a truck engine be sure to choose which option you will use to regulate your fuel, the corvette pump or the regulator inline on the fuel rail of the truck engine.
