took the T/A to the track..disapointed
granted it was my first time ever taking the car. i went up there with my buddy who's got a 1998 z28 a4 w/ a SLP lid. he ran first and ran a 13.51..i was pretty confident i would be right there with him...well, no. my best run was a 13.81 @ 101.1mph
(yes, my r/t's are garbage)but ill work on it
temp---76
R/T -.451 :barf:
60 - 2.156
330 - 5.917
1/8 - 8.967
MPH - 81.34
1000 - 11.587
1/4 - 13.817
MPH - 101.10
the ride home was hell because I just couldnt figure out why i was almost a whole half second slower.and my trans was just recently rebuilt.i know its not a major difference maker but w/ a vigilant shift kit.
he was running street tires that normally cant grip for shit, and im running BFG GForces.
i know the lid makes somewhat of a difference, but that much?
im planning on doing plugs and wires,a tune and a lid this week
just looking for some input on my run.thanks guys

reaction time doesn't affect the ET. Get a stall convertor and some drag radials and he'll be trying to catch you.

Black 2002 T/A M6- Green 1997 Ram 4x4
Bleh, not trying to rekindle a 10 yr old, presumed dead debate, but eh...9 times out of 10 the T/A will be a fraction of a second slower than an equal Camaro.
There's just enough of a weight difference between the two to make it noticable on the time sheets.
Granted..it shouldn't be a half second slower, especially if you were running better tires, but if anything, the extra pounds didnt exactly help you.

Silver- 2004 SVT Cobra
My car has an air intake and catback, I ran a 13.00 trapping at 108 mph. Some LS1 cars just run better than others, but a 101 trap speed is definately too low.

Yeah, give her a tune up and get that 60' down into the low 2.0 or high-1.9 range, and I don't think you'll be singing the blues any more.

Silver- 2000 Camaro SS
Mine went 13.6 bone stock with paper air filter. Year before last with headers, exhaust, tune, and 4.11 gears went 13.0 on motor, 11.76 on 125 hp nitrous. Last year with a built tranny, stall converter, and same mods as above went 12.6 on motor and 11.36 on 125 hp nitrous. This year with same mods as above + tunnel mount adjustable tq arm, LCA, relocation brackets, cam, and 200 hp shot went 10.97 with a spinning 1.57 60' in humid 90* weather. My other bests were done in much better weather than my 10.97 run. I expect it to go 10.5 this fall without any other changes.

If I'm not mistaken, the 2002 TA WS6 was about 2 tenths faster than the SS. Aerodynamics was the reasoning I believe. Either way, there all not going to run the same time from the factory. I've always loved the camaro, it was my first. Always wanted a SS, just happened to run into my WS6 and the sob looked mean. lol

how much time do you have a the track. a driver is the bigest part. but you sould be faster then that for nj should be a good place to run. and the ta is faster at the drag strip and the camaro had a 5mph top speed
