I put on a set of the Pirelli P Zero Nero's about 6 months ago and absolutely love them. Loved the price too. Got 'em at Vulcan Tire online.

    Tire Noise

On the subject of tires.................does anyone have trouble with noisy tires? I am running Yoko's and I get the washing machine "rom-rom-rom" starting at about 30 mph on up to highway speeds and beyond. I have had them checked out and there seems to be no failure and the wear is very even. I cannot feel any driveline vibration in the shifter either so I don't think (hope) its driveline related. Any ideas?

I had to get a new set of tires last summer, quickly. Based on reviews and price, I went to Tirerack.com got a set of Sumitomo HTR-Z in the stock size (275/40-17) -- for the incredible price of $88 each plus shipping. And they are pretty darn good tires -- very good in the rain, nice and predictable, good dry cornering grip (not as great as the Firehawk SP250s I had before, or the BFG KDW before that -- but better than the stock Goodyear Eagle F1), and so far, decent wear. Based on the reviews, which were generally very positive, I don't expect them to go more than 20K or so, but at the price, who cares??!!!! I recommend them.

Of course, if you can afford BFG KDs, why not? But Automobile Magazine, in their most recent performance tire test, voted the NEW Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 as the best all-around performer in their test.

I had a set of KDWs on my 2000 SS after the OEM goodyear eagle F1s wore (and not soon enough for me!) -- loved 'em too! Have fun, they're good tires.

Goodrich KDWS 285x40x17 got them at Costco Online and they install and balance for free! Most shops want $100+ for that!
