Bad night for an SRT owner
Thats right I handed out a royal azz kicking tonight. On my way home from a friends tonight a candyapple red SRT-8 got in my rear and started reving up him motor. So at the next light he pulled up and said he wanted to run. We left the busy traffic and went to a very long streatch of road along the river. Very little traffic if any and very long straight aways.
Race number 1, from a dead stop I immediately put 6 cars on him and continued to pull with a vengence. Race 2 was from a 30mph roll, same result. Pulled away from him and kept pulling away from him. The last race I gave him 3 cars. I caught him and started pulling on him again. First question out of his mouth after we both pulled over was how do I make my car that fast. My response "sell it and go buy an LS1". Well he didn't like that answer but hey its the truth. He just paid 30K for that car and he was getting smoked by a car thats worth a 3rd of its value. Like I have said before and what I told him 425hp is nice but not when your car is 4200lbs. If that damn new camaro can't do any better than this SRT you can keep it too. LS1 4 life, this baby ain't going no where.

Silver- 06 Charger SRT-8
Nice kill but....
Ultra lame
He just paid 30K for that car and he was getting smoked by a car thats worth a 3rd of its value.
Pretty rare. Same tranny in the big hp AMGs. It can handle 600hp easily.
That'll do it and do it good, no doubt.
+1

Ultra lame? Ultra lame is spending almost 40K for a car that has 425hp and still can't hit 12's.
As far as your second comment, lets see a 4dr domestic car that runs 12's with a tune...........well we can sure as hell scratch the srt8 charger off that list. About the only car I can think of would be a G8 firehawk and that will run you about $58K. Whats your point? I guess I'm missing the whole classic ricer math comment. My point $40k is way to much money to spend on a car and it still not perform like it should and IMO the SRT charger falls short of the mark. The whole 4dr sports car thing is a bad idea IMO anyway. You want speed buy an LS1, if you got 40K buy a nice used vette. Don't go buy an overweight, overpriced, underpowered 4dr grocery getter and then complain when you get smoked by a 10 yr old, 150K mile, $8K dollar LS1 F-body.Last edited by Lethal Z; 05-13-2009 at 03:19 PM.
