The knock module is less sensitive, he is asking about the sensor that scews into the drivers side head. I believe that they are the same part. Otherwise wouldn't you have to change both the module and the senor?

An LT4 knock module wont make a damn bit of difference if you have no false knock. However they are cheap insurance if you will have noisier than stock components under the hood such as headers, aftermarket valvetrain, etc. Those components dont by any means guarantee you'll see false knock though.

yes but if you just want to bolt on LT headers and ory and not spend 150 bucks more on a tune then it helps make sure you don't get the false knock.
Pulled the spark plugs on mine today. After doing LT headers, ory pipe, egr delete over a year ago, they are perfect after a year of running on stock tune.

So if your getting a tune, is it better to have the lt1 module made less sensitive or just swap to the lt4 module or swap to the lt4 and have it made less sensitive?

I said to help make sure you don't have false knocks. In other word when you add headers, roller rockers and stuff to the engine, sometime these parts cause extra noises in the engine compartment that can be picked up by the knock sensor and read by the knock modual as knock when they are not. The lt4 knock modual is less sensitive to report these sounds that the knock sensor picks up. When the knock modual reads these sounds as a knock then it tells the PCM and the PCM pulls timing out to try and reduce the knock. It's just a very small helping aid to not have problems. You can run the LT1 modual and you may never have a false knock. Some times guys have no problems at all. If you do have problems you can use this to help solve the problem insted of a tune. My thing was that I was going to be changing the engine anyway so why waist money on a tune when it would just have to be redone again and cost me money I don't need to spend at that time. But I get to work out any bugs in the exhaust and have it ready for the engine swap.
