power antenna motor stuck
the other day i heard it grinding when i turned the radio on and off, so i ended up pulling the power off, i have seen motors going for as much as $100 on ebay, but im looking for a smaller non-telescopic antenna.......any ideas?

mine does the same thing. Sounds like the motor is catching on something. Seems like it wants to go up but something inside the housing is keeping it in.

Review this link for the best repair options (assuming the motor still works and the mast is broken). The antenna mast is ran up and down with a set of plastic gears that eventually break or wear down and it just needs replaced (sounds familiar to anyone with headlight issues):

Check inside the fender and make sure it hasn't been bent while removing the spare possibly.

i just switched to a fixed mast antenna and got a shorty antenna to put on it

In case it's not just the mast only, that same company sells an entire assembly (including motor, mast, wiring, hardware, etc.) for basically the same price as just the mast:

cool thanks im gonna go tinker with the motor now that i saw that diagram, if i cant fix it by opening it then im just gonna go with a fixed mast

Once you take the motor out, just shave of the plastic rivet heads with a box cutter to gain access to the motor housing.
