Is this a good deal??
1999 Pontiac Firebird 5-Speed - $4500
This is the description...
I have a 1999 Pontiac Firebird Black in color for sale. Has T-tops, 5-Speed MAnual with about 3k miles on the new clutch. Has the WS6 Trans Am Hood on it ($1,200) K&N air intake. Power window, Locks. Very good car. Alot of horsepower for a V6 and gets great MPG. I also Have a set of the WS6 Trans Am Rims that came off of the 2002 WS6 Annv. Edition. They are black in color with the silver lip. These are not shown in the picture, please e-mail if you would like to see the car with them. The car has 155,000 miles ALL HIGHWAY. I used it to drive back and forth to work 54 miles each way. Very sharp and rare car!!!!!! Has TWO sets of rims and tires!!!!!

According to Kelly Blue book it is reasonable. With that many miles I would expect to put more money in it though, more than just the clutch is worn out if that is all that was replaced so far.

Does he have the stock hood? That's the ugliest hood EVER.
No offense, but why do you want this? You could geta LT1 car with way less miles for the same money.

I like how aggresive the hood is, plus it isn't your standard run of the mill WS6 Rep. either.

Once you go up there just bring out 3500 and say come on take the 3500 and its a done deal and maybe he would go for it, if he doesnt 4 grand is still a good deal. Just try to talk down as much as you can.

Just tell him its a V6 and theres no way you can get in trouble. You just want something that looks good and still gets good gas mileage. Trust me, he'll fall like a ton of bricks.

thats a good deal and it looks nice, but i would wait for a V8 IMO. i got a V6 and i wish i had every LS1 car i see lol. Even if it takes a year or two it would be worth the wait, you get more respect with the V8.

I made the mistake of giving into my parents peer pressure when I was looking for my first bird. I ended up getting a Mystic Teal Metallic '01 Convertible. It was a clean car but I knew I wanted a V8 tho. I loved the fact that I could drop the top and cruise. I had my current hood on my Trans Am on the previous bird at the time, looked really sick! I also put on magnaflow exhaust to give it a little better vocal range, didn't sound rice but it didn't sound like a V8. I bought it for $10K, turned around and sold it with all the stock components minus the exhaust for $13K, and then I bought my Trans Am for $14K. I went from an '01 V6 with 44K miles, to a '99 V8 with 36,600 miles for a thousand bucks. Did I get off with the better end of the rope? You bet your ass I did.
I guess my point here is start small to get your skills under you before you go bigger. Trust me, I got caught for street racing the first day I had my Convertible. If I had a T/A at the time instead, im sure it would have been much worse.

Yea I did the same thing I started with a V6 and wanted a V8 everytime. Dont get me wrong, it sounds like this could be ur first car right? The V6 still has a lot of power and you would be taking out all the non turboed ricers still. Sometimes beat a few or give em a good run. My V6 took out so many eclipses GSTs and GSXs, GTI, ect.
