help,..where to go? and what to do?
soo im new to the LS1...and i want to be "semi" fast, haha
anyways right now i have a lid and I cut the pipe after the stock Y (people say its bad, others say its like running a cutout,-help?") anyways i wanna push sumwhere into the mid 400s,..my plans are after i save up,..in order,smooth bellows,kooks/peacesetter headers to either an X pipe or just straight pipes/dumped duals, somthing with the clutch and rearend,wheels,and long run a nice Cam and/or Heads..............sorry about the grammer ect lol but yeh,...i need a lot of help as you can see,.

go with heads and cam,intake long tubes and good flowing exhaust and you should be close to 400 maybe more depends on heads and cam

yeh true, i donno i figured nothing would go rong with the LS1 anyways but im still kinda shocked about the whole "its really bad to cut off ur pipe , it could detonate" or sumin

full bolt ons, decent cam and a dyno tune will get u 400 plus with an aggresive cam. Dont need heads unless u have like an ls6 cam

Next mod should be exhaust. I gained 37rwhp and 34rwt over stock with just a CAI, 1 3/4 QTP headers + 3" custom ORY (!cats) and a 3" cutout in the I-pipe. It also lowered the ET at the track by .35 seconds.

Your warrenty will be voided the second you do something to the engine. I have a warrenty for 90,000 miles or until Feb of '09 and about the only thing you can do without voiding your warrenty is a full exhaust. That's why I'm kind of hesitant to do anything because if anything goes wrong with the car like if the engine breaks down all I have to do is pay $200 and I'll get a brand spankin new one. But then I also want to mod it. I'm kind of at a crossroads.

yeh same thing, i dont kno if headers will mess it up, but for now i just want the true duals after some pacesetter LTs and maybe a "MAF n Smooth bellows" and im done for a while...but yeh anyways question-is it bad for me to run my car with no pipe after the Y?

before you do anything, please understand something. YOU WILL BREAK THINGS ONCE YOU START TO MODIFY YOUR CAR. no questions asked. things happen, unforeseen, unexpected. if you are worried about your warranty then do not do anything! and just to clarify, a shot of nitrous would be the least possible thing that would void your warranty. the system can be removed as easily as it was installed.
on that note.....
heads/cam package with all supporting suspension and drivetrain mods plus a tune should achieve your power goal.

yeh im planning on doing this after i save up some money so i still have a whole nother year on it ,...damn soo yeh but yeh the pipe thing**^

peice of advice.... take it one step at a time..obvisously your not rich if your saving up...nothing wrong with that...i aint rich either... but dont get to far ahead of yourself ...with mods comes problems..if you dont have the bank for it you could run into trouble....save,buy something,install, save...repeat
or put a couple things on at once<---- save some money on install
remeber... be prepared for things to go wrong...
oh and...CAI, full headers back, cam, tune, ls6 manifold... you'll be well on your way

yeh thats what im plannin i start work on the 21st so i should be perfect on money its just ? 3 weeks and ill have everything
