Grill Installation?
How does grill come off on 01 SS? If I put a billet grill on, do I have to modify anything or just screw on?

Won't hurt anything? Does billet one go in with no mods?

think it's possible to break the bumper by yanking the grille off?

I suppose that I should do a write up on this because it comes up often. Do NOT yank! Pull with a constant steady motion... Otherwise you "could" damage the nose cover.. Not very good pics, but this will give you some idea...

It will be body color behind the black plastic you remove so I painted the visible parts black so they dont show thru my black billet grille.

The billet grille I picked up on e-bay used the stock license plate mounting holes...no drilling required....simply insert the four screws and tighten.
As for removal, as the others stated, simply pull one of the fasteners out and then apply constant pressure to slowly ease the others out. It took me about 10 minutes to get the stocker off with that approach and nothing was damaged in the process.
As the others stated, if you have a lighter colored car, you might want to paint the area behind the grille black (since it's currently painted to match the primary color of the car).
