passed the torch today to Zach.....
Broke out Smokey and the Bandit and watched it with him today. Told him that was the point every boy in America fell in love with the Trans Am. Wife gave me a ration because of the language in it and she was probably right but he knows what he can and can't say so he should be good to go.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
Yep. I watched it with my dad too. He got me into Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, Hooper, Black Moon Rising, Dirty Mary-Crazy Larry, Dukes of Hazzard and the list goes on.

My old man had a 455 74 T/A when I was a little kid..
I have always disliked the body style tho..

Watched it in the theater at 13. It was cool to watch. Sad part is that year TA had all of 195 HP. Movie made it out to be more than it really had..

I like the scene where Bandit is outrunning the deputy and he hides behind a gas station, and when the deputy blows past the gas station, Bandit looks at the camera and smiles as if to say "see what I did here?" Priceless.

yeah.....he's getting there. Starting to ask a lot of questions about the bird. Like how fast have I went in it and stuff like that. He's went to a couple track rentals and sat in the stands and watched me. I'd like to find one where he can ride with me. I wouldn't run a full quarter but a hole shot and through the 1/8 would be fun for him I bet.

Very cool sharing the movie experience.
I believe you can load up a passenger as long as you keep it under 100 mph at our track. I took Dawn last year in the Trans Am and did a full out launch, so she could experience the entire process, and then just lifted about 2/3 of the way down the track. They also have a "Teen Challenge Race Series" that allows kids to run cars before they have their license. Might have to be 14 or 15 to do it, not sure. Again, the cars cannot be capable of running over a certain speed for safety.

Ha that's great. Sadly, kids today would probably like The Fast and the Furious better than Smokey and the Bandit
