officially tired of television
Caught a show on tonight called appalachian outlaws. What a crock of shit TV has become. Between this show and every other redneck based "reality" show you'd think everyday is full of excitement. Having grown up in back road rural america I can tell you from first hand experience.....it's not that exciting. Most people just sit around being unemployed most of the time. When they're not busy doing that they're drunk. When they're not busy with the first 2 things they pass their leisure time stealing from the select few people that actually do have jobs or watching horse shit on TV like appalachian outlaws.....or COPS.
There's another one on called hollywood hillbillies that follows that redheaded dork and his morbidly obese family around hollywood. Just another instance of redneck people doing redneck shit. Damn shame these people are making money from being fat and stupid.

Yeah those shows all suck, as does most of TV these days. I do however still find a decent amount of shows I enjoy. The Smithsonian channel has some good shows, as well as NatGeo and a few other networks.
Is Appalachian outlaws the one where they're out hunting for some valuable root or something? Or is it the moonshiners?

yeah....it's the ginseng one. Moonshiners is just as retarded and make believe though.
Me and Zach started recording and watching brain games a week or two ago. Pretty neat show. I'm also a huge fan of the smithsonian channel. They have some pretty informative stuff on there. Is that the one that does mighty ships and mighty planes? Pretty sure it is and I record those every chance I get. Aerial America is also pretty cool.

The Following on FOX is pretty good...true detective on HBO is awesome as well. I highly recommend True Detective...you gotta watch it from the beginning of this season and once you get past the 1st episode it gets really good.. I tend to stay away from reality tv because it has got to the point that it looks pretty fake...

my wife watches the following.....I caught an episode last week while she was watching it. Not a bad show but not my thing really. I'd rather watch a good comedy but other than big bang theory there's not many decent comedies on anymore. Winter will be over soon and I'll get to spend more time in the garage tinkering with shit and then what's on TV won't matter.
I'm a hillbilly......maybe I'll start my own reality show where I sneak around stealing ginseng while drunk as shit on moonshine blowing on a duck call wearing alligator skin cowboy boots. That would be a mega hit I bet. I'd be rich as hell. I'd have to figure out how to work a skanky whore into the show though because they all have them and since I don't know any I'd have to talk to GTP as I'm sure he knows tons.

most everything on network tv is crap... ...oversaturation of "alternative lifestyles" and countless dramas glamorizing cops saving the day... threw in the towel on cable 5 yrs ago, haven't looked back, ..never going back

Add Amish Mafia to your wtf list Orion.
I've hated TV for a while. There was a time TLC & Discovery were good (when they had the biker & car build off's, gun shows) but they've been pulling away for a yr or two. I still watch Myth Busters. I find I've been watching Syfy channel more of late.
Only "Drama" shows I like are WD, Spartacus series, SOA, The Shield, now Banshee, Helix, Arrow, Blacklist, Justified. Haven't seen any good comedies in a while.

I was watching the walking dead but haven't been able to watch much of this season. I also like the show Vikings. I really do not wathc TV anymore. A majority of my TV use is for video games and movies but I do not think I have used my xbox in more than a month. My computer gets more use now.

that's hillbilly blood.....I actually kinda like that one. Those guys, although made out to be country bumpkins, are actually pretty frigin smart. They do know how to use the land. Seen the one where they run the generator on water? Eugene is well educated I think or does a lot of reading.
