My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
LOL @ the v6's free rev...and "smart muscle"
the 5th gen is starting to do it's job-getting GM attention. They did a similar report locally here, using a V6 too. They took it out and basically parked at random places and took note of how many heads it turned or random strangers came up.

Sebring Silver- 2000 CamaroSS
I saw a new SS in "Inferno Orange" at the dealership Saturday.
Sat inside & loved the interior.....walked around the car several times & really don't care for it. Reminds me of the boxy look of the Charger.
At $42K they can keep it.

Black on Black on Black- 2002 Camaro SS Vert
Ok, not bad media clip. Was it me or was every owner in the clip over 65 years old?

Pewter- 2002 Z28 (sold)
I went to my dealer on Sat. to see if they had one yet and they did. A red RS. I was checking it out and the dealer guy said wanna drive it? I was a kid in a candy store. I put about 15 miles on it.
Pros: Very Comfy interior, easier to get in and out. good acceleration, could be better though. MAJOR head turner everyone was pointing and doing a double take. For 28K and NO dealer mark-up thats a BIG plus. The infamous F-Body Hump is gone!! Beautiful body lines. More interior room then my 02 Z28.
Cons: Very poor visability out the B-Piller, A-Piller could be much better as well. Controls for most buttons and gadagets hard to find or use, (dealer guy actually was playing with all the controls). The Stupid Paddle shifter is more of a button then an actual paddle. took me 5 minutes to figure out how to shift. Car is Not, I repeat NOT, for sale for another 4 weeks. They are using it as a "Test Mule" to gauge people's intrest. anyone looking at the car gets to give it a test drive. Same thing will happen when they get the Fully loaded plus dealer optioned SS in 4 weeks and that car won't be for sale until 4 weeks later and the process repeats.
IMO- I give the car a 6-7 out of 10 as a Daily driver. The SS might be a different story.

Sat in one the other day. It is OK. Nothing to cream your jeans about though.
Dealer said it would go for $45K. I told him he was wasted/high. He laughed and said they already had a waiting list at that price. Just like the GTO's. Wait 24 months and get one for $18K with very low miles.

The folks you see in the report are Camaro Club of San Diego members who could show up for a photo shoot on a Friday morning, so yeah, half of them are retired (and a couple of them are out of work!).
In my case, I was able to use a vacation day so I didn't have to go to work that day.
Cheers,

We had a similiar event locally (several actually) and one made the news The reporter doesn't know anything about the cars, and screwed up our club name, but did get several club cars in it. The lead in is once again a retired guy that could show up early... (wifes car is the first red one to the right of the 2010).
