Frankenstein Lives!!!
Today I took the Formula to work. It's been almost a year since I last drove the car. It's a totally different car now.
Here is the run down
1988 Formula T Tops
LT1 engine
T-56 Trans
Headers & Borla catback
3:73 gears in 10 bolt disc rear out of a 90 camaro
new leather seat covers
new dash
new carpet
new plug and play wire harness for the LT1 conversion
new brakes
new tires
new wheels (gta honey combs)
Still needs some odds and ends finished (stereo, console lid, wipers, speedo)
BUT WOW! I had a fun ride today trying to get used to the new everything. Damn clutch releases so freaking high compared to the old 5 speed
Gonna take me a bit to get used to it, but I am SO happy to have it back. I'll post some pics tomorrow of her.
And SOW

I aptly named it Frankenstein cause the further I got into it the more stuff I found that didn't belong to this car. It was pieced together with many others.
Console, left fender, trans, hood, shocks, springs, exhaust, all things that were modified either using another turd gen or aftermarket....Not all good mods

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
WHAT! They shot current up your ass and you came alive?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
OTOH, you'd love what one of my friends has done to his wife's 88GTA: Fresh "built" (prepped for a turbo yet to come) 350 and new paint with a ghost bird on the hood. They're taking it to the track next week for a baseline run.Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 05-09-2009 at 11:48 AM.

Much better -- looks and sounds like you have done a lot of work resurrecting the monster. Was it a year long process, or everything just get done recently? I do like the overall look of the car and under the hood. Nice job!

It's been a 4 year project. This is engine #4 since I have had it. One in the car was a TBI 350 that had a blown headgasket and cracked block, second was another 350 TBI that spun a rod bearing, #3 was another 350 tbi that had no compression in 2 cylinders, FINALLY the LT1 went in. Car has been in the process of all of this really in the last year and a half. It's getting there though. I have to now finish up the body and some small odds and ends. Like put my amp and box back in. She should be show ready for next year I hope
Once I repair the dents, swap the fender and hatch off the 91 I'll get it painted GM blackest black with 3 coats of chromo clear

Was the front bumper on the 91 unusable? I'd have gone that route rather than the 88 front. Just a preference from when I had my 89.
