Raced a GT-R last night

Not quite sure what you're saying but the Z-06 has a very harsh ride.

Actually the LMP 1 and (gas powered) 2 cars routinely finish ahead of the GT1 Vettes (and the gas powered R8 years past) and Aston has beat it several times at LeMans as well as Ferrari in '03. Don't get me wrong though - it's a fantastic race car.

In SCCA T1 it only beats the Vipers because they run restrictors and this year a 360 beat them all.

yeah... but the vettes also run restrictors... snaggletooth posted a thread about it... and i believe that is only the Z06 vettes... i'm not sure if the ZR1 is running in any of thoes events yet...

Well there ain't much to hear, pretty quiet with the stock exhaust. And I can only imagine the horrible exhaust note from Nissans's 3.8 if someone put an exhaust on one

with it being a v motor i can assure you it sounds like shit. the only thing on there we need to hear is the turbo spooling

the oldschool inline 6 skyline motors such as the rb25 & rb26 are the best sounding of them all. esp with one setup on a good cam and huge turbo!! its pretty sick. but this new v style motor will never compete in that catagory.

i like the body style of the new gtr, im not a fan of all the electronics n esp the v motor. first thing i would do is gut all the b.s and swap in the rb26 motor thats a true skyline.

the only big turbo'd I-6 i like hearin is the big 6 that is my straight piped cummins. music to my ears----cant say as much for the guy that's next to me or the lib that im black smokin.

Sorry to bring it back but...I was previously reading an article that showed the z06 quicker thru the 1/4 than the gtr and braking better and holding the same on the skidpad. My conclusion: The GT-R is faster on race tracks because of driver error in the z06. Since the GTR is auto/paddleshift, loaded with traction control and awd, it's just easier to pull around the track with less mistakes. I'll stick to my drivers cars thank you, keep it Nissan. As another note, I would say the day of drivers cars are almost gone, enjoy it guys.
