teal- 99 Z28 with an SS complex
sti sounds like something delicious to eat
For those of you don't know me, my car is out of commision since i am starting my build. So my roomate has been letting drive his 05 gto around, since he drove my car around for months. He put down 388rwtq and 379rwhp.
So i was just leaving my naval base getting ready to cruise over for lunch with my friend. When this newer sti gets ahead of, man oh man, this guy is driving slow. I'm a little mad because the guy pretty much cut me off, so i stay on his butt. I'm only waiting to get onto the freeway up the street where there is this down spiral on ramp. Well he starts picking it up and i stick with him, and he starts pushing it through this turn so i stick on his tail the whole way, tires letting me know that they are workin. Then it just straightens out and i let him have it, man oh man i did not think the gto was going to pass him up the way it did, i just heard his little exhaust screaming as i glided by him once i had a few cars on him i let off and slowed down waiting for him to catch up but he just stayed back. For a big ass car the gto sure can handle. From the sound of it the sti was stock, but i am still suprised that i stayed on his ass the whole time, maybe that kid needed a driver mod.

Nice kill.
STI's do handle well, but thats not what makes them so fast in the twisties. Its the fact that the car is so easy to drive and well balanced, anyone can just throw it into a turn and go around it like a professional without much drama at all. Its extremely predictable, the tires start to howl when you're really on it, but it just sticks to your intended path.
An F-body or GTO on the other hand can match an STI's handling capabilities with a few suspension/chassis upgrades (shocks/wheels/tires/sway bars/SFC's/LCA's/ect), but its nowhere near as easy to drive, it takes a relatively skilled driver to really carve up a twisty road in our cars. Not sure how easy GTO's are to drive, haven't driven one. So sounds like you have the driver mod at leastLast edited by Wesman; 09-30-2008 at 10:26 AM.

Black- RIP S4 06Tbss
He needed a driver mod if he had any balls he could have ripped around that turn. AWD is nice to have for turns and launching but from a roll the STI had no chance nice kill!
