got stupid for a minute

well i wouldn't call this a kill because i ran side by side with the thing. well i was at blockbuster picking up a movie and while i was in the store a new model mustang gt pulled up that was pretty loud like my car is. don't think it had mufflers. it definitely had a cam. i was thinking to myself it sounded good and all and my brother in law who was with me thought it sounded really good(he's a mustang guy) and then we got in line at blockbuster near each other. i told him i though his car sounded good and he said thanks and all, well when i got in my car and started it up he kinda jumped. well i got at the red light and he pulled up behind me. well we got on 153 and he got beside me and started just going a bit and letting off. well my brother in law convinced me to race him somehow and i did. well the guy in the mustang started right when i gave it a rev and got 2 cars ahead of me right away. then i hit the gas and caught up to him after a second and pulled on him a bit then realized i was doing 95 and hit the brakes. he kept on the gas and had to have hit 140 mph before he let off. a minute or two later i saw him pulled over on hixson pike. me and my brother in law kinda laughed. but i was stupid there for a minute. i shouldn't have run him. it was just stupid but oh well. first time i raced on the street in 6 months. a lot better than i used to be.

prolly. he got pulled over about a mile away from where we were. i went a different way around because me and my brother in law didn't know where to go get some food.

LOL, I wouldn't be Caught Dead racing in chatty!! HAHA, Those cops are Dicks and are Everywere, Smart thinking tho!! I have seen 2 or 3 of the new model Mustangs at Crossville, The best I have seen them run is low 9's have not see 1 in the 8's.

I will give you props, At least you didn't post a I beat a 4cyl thread!! At least you have the balls to race a v8 or an actual competition car.

i don't even race on the street hardly at all anymore. i found out who the guy was. he has 380hp and runs 8.5 in the 1/8mile. evidently he doesn't want to do any suspension work because his car "doesn't need it". i bet if he had any suspension at all he would be much faster off the line and i bet with weight reduction he would be even quicker.

so did he have a cam or cams? if he only put one in thats why he is still runnin 8.5

cams. that's assumed to me with those things. i got a friend that has one that runs 8.2 on street tires at 90mph. he's pretty fast. got a lot of weight reduction and a nice suspension setup with a 460hp top end package. i make fun of him because i run almost the same time as him because i'm on dr's. and how did you run an 8.5 stock? must be pretty good with the 6speed.

If I had 460Hp and I only ran 8's I would sell my car and buy a Bicycle. I Obviously am not a good race car driver for sure with those Kinds of times!!

i guess i wasnt completly stock, i had a lid and a blowmaster muffler. i spun thru second and got an 8.51 at like 87 i posted a thread on it when i did like 2 years ago lol. i can drive okay but the track sucks and i have to pedal thru 2nd

You have come a long way, Mr. Bling. I remember your earlier threads.

Speaking of which, how are things with your girl and kid? I kinda missed some of the details along the way. All I remember is how her mom was psycho, etc. Anyway, I hope all is well now.

Yesterday on my way home from work I found myself next to a heavily modded Fox. Car had at least exhaust, cam and good tires. I'm sure there was a lot more going on than what I saw. This was a horrible place to run 'em but I gave him a thumbs up and told him it sounded mean. He returned the compliments on my car and as the light turned green I rolled through the intersection and gave it a little extra through 1st gear and let off and as I was slowing down he eased up close and then punched it a little and we waved.
