Vin ending in 111011
The bank is wrong. This car was converted by ASC on Aug. 17, 2001. It was the 2,234 conversion of 12,517 for 2002. It is a Black, manual, T-Top. We converted 2,288 black, manual T-tops that year. This was 366th black, manual, we converted that year.
Good luck - Your friends at ASC.

Hello, I am looking at buying an engine from a car with VIN 2G2FV22P3V2224410. What can you tell me about this car? Does the engine have aluminum heads? I was told if the car was a WS6 that it would have aluminum heads and be rated at 305hp. Sorry, it is an LT1.
Thanks.

No VIN 2G2FV22P3V2224410 is not a WS-6. That is all I know. The 2002 WS-6 would have a LS-1 engine, the LT-1 was used from 93-97, the LS-1 was 98-02. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi WV R-R,
According to our records, your S/N 2G2FV22G022155574 is a black 2002 WS6 with T-tops and a manual transmission. It was converted by ASC on May 21, 2002 and was our build number 8,974.
The 2002 model year WS6 breakdown is:
12,517 ""regular"" (non-Collector Edition) WS6s built
10,888 T-Tops
6,622 manual transmissions
4,193 black
With your specific combination (black, T-Tops, manual trans), we built 2,071.
I hope this information is helpful.

Black- 1998 Trans Am WS6 'Vert
Yes, all non-vert T/As (WS6s or not) were T-tops. The difference of those numbers are more or less the number of 'verts. When creating the breakdowns for the '02s, I found that CompNine's database was short quite a few production units compared to another data source I found. The numbers cited above seem to be a mis-mash of those numbers:
12517 - 10888 = 1629 which happens to be the total number of '02 WS6 'verts found in CompNine's database (which included the CETAs.....which seemed to be excluded from the numbers quoted above).
The other data source I found showed a total of 12212 WS6 coupes, and 2696 WS6 'verts (CETAs being a sub-set of that at 1348 coupes and 1042 'verts).
Since that other data source could not be "distilled" down by color or other options, I cannot verify the number of black '02 WS6s, other than going by CompNine's database (which I know is short some units).
A link to the breakdown I created from CompNine's database is in my sig.Last edited by JohnnyBs98WS6Rag; 08-28-2014 at 12:43 PM.

Black- 1996 Pontiac Trans am Ws6
Hello my name is Jason and I recently bought a 96 trans am ws6 vin# 2G2FV22P8T2210242. I saw that you were able to help someone else out on here and was wondering if you could give me any info?? It has the ws6 badge on the pass rear bumper and the 17in rims but it has a aftermarket air filter system so I cannot tell if it had the correct air box set up. Any advice or info you could give me to make sure its a real ws6 or not I would greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

On the driver side door, there will be a series of 3 digit numbers/letters. These are your RPO's. If you have WS6 ,WS9 and Y82 you have a true WS6 Trans Am.

All I can see with your VIN is that it is a 1996, Formula/TA, manual belts with dual airbags, LT1 350, made in Canada and its sequential number is 210,242. The VIN will not tell you this is a WS6. You really need to have the RPO's off the door. Other then having the original window sticker when the car was first purchased. I can't see any other way to verify weather it's a true WS6 or not.
I know there is a site where you can order your original (copy) of the window sticker. Not sure if I can post it, so If you want it, PM me.Last edited by Nutball; 09-15-2014 at 07:51 AM.

Check the inside of your glovebox door, this is where GM placed the RPO decal until '97 I believe (and a much safer place for it than on the driver's door). Verify that the VIN# on this RPO decal matches the VIN# on your dash (in case the glovebox door was swapped).
If worse comes to worst, you can have a GM dealer run your VIN# through their VIS system and print out all the RPO codes for your car. Another option is to use CompNine.com (you used to be able to run a free VIN# to get the RPO codes, they charge $5 now for 5 VIN lookups).
