California emissions? What exactly is this on the car? I am in TN and not quite sure what this is. Thanks.

Ok cool. By the way thanks Cutlass. That is a pretty cool breakdown of the car.

Our car was originally from California and I asked this same question. As Cutlass stated, there is no difference in the emissions components compared to vehicles purchased in other states.

Oh good. I always knew that Cali had stricter emission laws but wasn't sure exactly if that just made exhaust molding tough or if there was more emission parts on those cars.

Years ago, when manufacturers had difficulting meeting Calif emissions laws, they DID need to install extra smog equipment on cars sold in Calif, so they developed their assembly line to handle this kind of thing. However, most of the newer cars, LS1s included, they run so clean that their standard production also met Calif. smog standards, so essentially ALL cars off the line get the "Calif Emissions Cert" from the factory.

I checked. The option codes didn't come up for this VIN. I think GM is starting to delete the records on some of the older cars.

    2G2FV22G622160763 is mine.

Could you possibly try to run mine to see if anything comes up I don't already know? When I go to look in rarity sites they can never seem to find mine, but they find others all the time. Odd to me. '02 Black WS6 M6.

You can use the CompNine VIN decoder. Here's a link to yours:
