    2000 v6 camaro idle

when i start my car and let it idle it sputters and has a hard time keeping itself stable. then when i rev the engine up it stops for a second.. then starts sputtering again. BUT, when i put it in gear it wont accelerate and keeps sputtering. then, the rpms go way up almost like i was flooring it and then it's fine. after i take it for a ride it stops all together and runs fine. it's only when i first start it and put it in gear.. any suggestions would help. i'm not sure when all the guy that had it before me did with it but he claims he had it in a garage and used it for a show car.. makes me wonder if he ran the crap out of it and didn't tune it or take care of the engine. oh, also when i put it in gear the whole car shakes like i was completely stopped, depressed the brake, then slammed on the break.... it's really making me nervous to drive it like that. if anyone knows help out please

My fiancées 99 Camaro V6 was doing the same thing. It turned out to be a bad fuel regulator.

Nope not the fuel pump. It called a Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator Autozone replacement part number is 800-319. On her car the diaphragm in the part ripped and allowed gas into the vacuum line and did not allow the fuel rail pressure to be stable.
