B2300 (Fluffy) Retired- Plain-Jane Dodge Truck
It is very, very, very hard to get a 2V 4.6 to make 400 RWHP without a power adder, and I have never heard of a steetable version doing anywhere close to that N/A.
The 4.6 can be stroked, and you can get a "big bore" 4.6, though they are not real common. Even then, the 2V street cars are likely only in the 350-ish RWHP range.
A true "bolt-on" 4.6 2V will make, at best, in the neighborhood of 300 RWHP. My guess is you'll have little trouble with the car, assuming he is not spraying.
That said, there is much more to acceleration than just RWHP. Believe or not, I know of two "bolt-on" 4.6 2V GTs that have gone high 11s. They are essentially tin cans, but if you just casually looked at them, it might not be real evident.

Yeah, find out what his mods are, if he trurly did build the bottom end and leave the top end stock it would be a fun race.

I've personally only seen one 2v dyno showing over 400(430). In no way was it streetable. My fully built stroker with 10:1 when na only made 325-330.
99 35th GT: 5.0 stroker, twin 60 turbos, aeromotive return style fuel system, full suspension.
575/563 @ 12lbs-adding more soon...
07 Trailblazer SS(wife's): 22s, 3200 stall, cammed and bolt ons, lowered. 405/405
