350Zs are good cars, racing in SCCA T2 with LS1s. Better handling, not as fast in the straights.

The best trap speeds for the '07s+ stock are 107mph (2) and the rest 105mph. Interestingly the best bolt-on '07+ trap is also 107mph.

Anyway, point being, low 13s or not, on any given day an LS1 is going to be 2-4mph faster in the quarter and will win on the highway, too.

Check out the fastest FI times -1 in the 9s, 2 in the 10s. 1000s of domestics doing that....

Where did you see a stock '07 350Z go 107 in the quarter? I saw three run @ Sac Raceway two wednesdays ago, two stockers and one with intake and exhaust. The stockers trapped in around 104 - the car with intake and exhaust trapped 105.

And if they were capable of 107 trap speeds, that would be right there with what a stock LS1 F-body will do.

M/T got 13.4@107 in an '01 WS6. Let's not even talk about mags like MCR, Car Craft, and even Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, in which Evan Smith wen't 12.8 in a stocker. Like I said, don't bet on C&D.

I work at a nissan dealer and we had one of those nismo 350z. They are fast but all the power is at the top. No low end. O yah and it sounds like a pissed off coffee grinder.

I agree. 350Z's have no low-end grunt. I saw an article in Tuner magazine where they baselined a stock 350, then added a cold air intake, catback, and a "hand held" tune, and the darn thing actually lost torque. Is that crazy or what?

Look at the link I provided and check out another thread by a member who claims 107mph. I'm suspicious myself but take a look.

Again, C&D doesn't do any drag prep or powershift and fully discloses their testing procedures. Their times are spot-on and unquestionably an excellent source when comparing vs. other cars.

I'm curious as to how a stock/near stock LS1 is going to fare against one of these new Z's.

The revised VQ35HR seems to be as similar a leap as the LS1 was to the LT1.

As an enthusiast (and former Turbo Z owner from the 80's), I'm very interested.
There Torque sucks compaired to ls1

    New 350z
    306 hp @ 6,800 rpm
    268 lb-ft @ 4,800 rpm
