The LS1 had to have a really bad tune. Or there is something wring with it. The mods he had should make it much faster than an LT1. An LS1 has as much torque as an LT1 just comes on at a higher rpm. Those gears in the LS1 should fix that. Tuning can have a bigimpact on an LS1 car that is modded.

Yeah man a heads & cam package along with exhaust and gears will have you really shocking some LS1's. All 3 of my buddies with LS1's respect my 94' Z28 cause I've taken all of them from a stop in the quarter, course my LT1 isn't stock, but yeah he should be smoking you with the mods listed. I love my LT1's though

i had the same case happened to me.....me in a 97 ss 6spd intake catback vs a 99 ta with 410s catback intake and dyno tune.............all races went from about 40-50 to about 100 and it would end up with me (lt1) with my nose at the rear fender of the ls1.........i def agree with you man it made no sence........to be honest all of us agreed that the ls1 seemed alot quicker without the 410s...................

It's like 4.10's contradict the strong point of an LS1.. but who knows, if I had an LS1 and was on a modding platform, I'd choose 3.42's.
