You would be surprised what a small percentage can do in a high HP engine. When you think about a 1% gain on a 500+hp motor, is 5hp. A 3% gain from itake modifications is definately not unheard of.

I have raced one. There have a fast 1/2nd gear but they seem to go away around 3rd n 4th.
He hung with me till about 50-60 and then I jumped him by 3 cars to 120.

SO with that stroker it would be a good race!!!

I think you're wrong based upon what a K & N FIPK did for my '04 Cobra and what I've seen posted on svtperformance.com.

I only hit the rev limiter against the GT cause I was manually shifting to hold it out and see if it would be quicker if it revved higher since it shifts at a modest 6200

Hehe, not to run bro. We just wanna check the beast out once finished. By the way, is the T-Rex a definite, or would you consider another in it's place? Don't get me wrong, it's a proven camshaft, but my cousin doesn't seem to think you're going to like the all around driveability of it (under the curve, especially with an automatic and stall)....

When I sold Gaspar my old '98 (not the one that you seen, it was a different one), I had a custom cam similar to Patrick Guerra's old LSK lobe grind. First thing my cousin did was yank that camshaft out, replaced it with a smaller one (he won't tell me the exact specs though lol), dialed it in, and it pulled ever harder than what it already did....

Sometimes bigger can be too much of a burden (from a symmetrical perspective)....

I would have to agree w/you regarding . But if this guy doesn't mod it by the time Mike's car in finished, Mike's Camaro will annihilate his GT500 either on the track, or on the street....

Thanks for the vote of confidence. The TRex isn't a def only because of the 383stroker... I'm talkin to some people about a custom one. The 3600stall should def help out w/ cam tho as far as driveablilty.

They were in the video, only the video says 100 shot and it was actually jetted for 75, but the 75 jets picked up 106 at the wheels so they're calling it a 100 shot. Mac mids, torquer 2, ls6 intake, 75 shot. the mustang I raced in the beginning of the video made 501/500 @ 11psi

    10's N/A

I thinks it's kind of funny how some speak of the GT500 like it just doesn't have any potential whatsoever. Now i'm not taking up for Ford guys or anything, just being honest. The GT500 has a 5.4L DOHC underneath as i'm sure we all know by now, virtually the same motor that powered the 2000 Cobra R, except it's supercharged! Yes a cam only LS1 may outrun a stock GT500, but i'd be willing to bet that there are many GT500 cars that are not completely stock by now. It takes just a pulley, exhaust, and some bolt-ons to gain 70 or more horsepower in one of these machines, easily putting these cars into the 11's without touching the heads or camshafts. As a die hard F-body enthusiast I am very aware of what this motor is capable of and have been following it since it's introduction in 2000 despite the very limited resources (I like to know what my competition is up to ) Yes they are fat pigs with lackluster performance in stock trim, but they can go reeeal fast, real easy. So don't underestimate or else you could easily become a victim.

    Just my 2 cents.
