Shift throw seems to be about the same as stock. The shifter is very knotchy though and has a great feel to it. Secure shifts and I never miss a beat with it. Build quality is excellent and the shift stop bolts add an extra sense of security. I can't comment as far as comparing it to the B&M ripper since I've never tried that shifter. Pro 5.0 is highly recommended.

You say the shift is about same as stock, is it a hair shorter, or a hair longer then stock, I am thinking about getting this shifter.

I haven't compared directly. It's very close though. That said, if you're using the stock ball handle than there is at least an inch of extra thread available, so you could cut the stick down a bit. I've heard of others doing this and I may just try it myself. Short stick purchased separate is always an option too.

I found mine on e-bay for around $160. I'm sure they still have some for sale there.

I stuck with the stock shifter and ordered a LSS and that made a huge difference over the tall stock stick.

Mine was also notchy at first, after some abuse, it is quite smooth now.

btw, in 2 years of racing this car almost every weekend, I have not missed a gear once with this shifter.
