Why is a 12.9 so hard to belive i ran a 12.87 with street tires, with a lid and headers and hooker catback with no ls6 intake manifold, my mods gave me 29rwhp from stock and a ls6 intake manifold is 10-15rwhp so im making around 15more rwhp than a 02 ls1 and I ran a 12.87, so why cant someone who is a better driver run a 12.9? Just because you never could get close to that when you car was close to stock doesnt mean noone else can.

a stock c6 base model on street tires ran 13.4 at the Ennis track. I think he's best was 13.2... but many people like to claim numbers, internet racing.

Then the conditions were bad or hes a bad driver, how do you run 13s with a 3000lbs car that makes 405hp think about it. I have seen cammed ls1 cars make 370-380rwhp with full wieght run low 12s. 3000 pound car with 340-350rwhp can break 12s, maybe it need a driver upgrade

you are misinformed. the weight is not 3000lbs, the car does not make 405hp GM underrated it ... and you can achieve great results with moderate power and DRs and a good stall... so let's not theorize. I'm telling you what I have seen at the track and not what it should be theoretically. theoretically a stock TA should run 13.4 but it won't, not on street tires and some good launch. the norm at the track for stock ws6 is high 13s on street tires.

Ok i have 4 good clsoe friends of mine with lsx powered cars, jakes 99 z28 ran a 13.4 with just catback, jake also had a 98 z28 that went a 11.8 but that wasnt close to stock lol, nicks 95 z28 ran a 13.6 with catback, pullies intake 3.23 rear gears and a tune, steve 96 z28 went a 13.7 with just headers and exhaust, zacks 01 z28 went a 13.3 bone stock. Im not gonna say i havent seen quite a few 02 ls1 cars run 13.7s and up. However i have also seen all of these guys run there cars personally. All m6s, except nicks 95, all had street tires ranging from 245s up to steves 285s, mine are 250s btw

right, and that's probably their best run too not the norm. I bet they have some suspension mods done (SFC or tq arm or springs, shocks) which enhances the drivability and take off, and good street tires like F1 to go with those numbers.
99 z28 ran a 13.4 with jsut catback
95 z28 ran a 13.6 with catback, pullies intake 3.23 rear gears and a tune

you're not listening, norm is high 13s... they may pull a low 13 stock on street tires which is a freak run. we're talking norm, when you ask somebody how they do at the track they will give you the best run which they get once in a blue moon, but the correct answer should be what they can repeat. this is why you get conflicting numbers on the internet and folks fake out their runs to look good.

I just can't understand why you all keep under-cutting your own cars. High 13's in a WS6??? Please...Motor Trend, a freakin' magazine got 13.4@107 on a hot sunny day. My '93 LT1 clocked a 13.8 bone-stock...on street tires. I've seen an LS1 T/A go 13.0 completely stock - yes, I wen't to lanes and inspected the darn thing as it was even hard for me to believe too. Do some research on your own car bud, or take some driving lessons maybe.

I just don't understand why people like you even bother to quote track times from magazines. they never do that stock. they upgrade suspension and little things, pro tires and pro drivers... and yeah move on bud, stop claiming your internet track numbers... it's folks like you that keeps the numbers low. freak runs do happen but ultimately as norm you run 14s on that stock LT1 street tires
