Yep had a set of Sumitomo's shipped to my door for $420. 275's up front 315's out back. I cant complain about the price and it got my ZR1's on the Z. No more snowflakes

so i heard you cant run 315's on 9 inch rims, i mean can you or cant you? if i grind down the bump stop and use a big fricken hammer will they work, or do the tire just not fit the rim?

I have seen it done with the use of spacers, longer studs and some grinding.

I disagree that there is more room, and I wouldn't run larger that 10" on 285's on the front without those mods.

Honestly longer studs are needed from the factory as there is just not enough threads on a stock stud (see pic):

Sumitumo's are like 109 at Tirerack and are definately the cheapest. I have them on my ZR1's however for some reason they don't look near as wide on my car as those on his. Good post I had to learn the hard way about all of that especially the part about the lowered car went through 2 tires before I fixed it.

So is cutting and rolling the rear fender lips only required if the car is lowered? Does anyone have a "how to" on rolling the fenders?

Is anybody running 17x11 wheels with the 315 tires on a '97 or earlier f-body convertible? I'm running into some contraditory information regarding fitment of this set up on LT1 year convertibles.

plenty of LT1s w/ 315s can be found in www.frrax.com
They fit as easily in LT1 4th-gen than LS1 4th-gen... plenty of reading in perspective.... search will be your friend.

if you want 17x12 on all 4 corners, it works well as well:

there is more room in the front than in the rear, btw.

Eugenio, Thanks for all the information.

Here's an excerpt from an Ebay ad from AFS for the ZR1s. It says they don't fit the 1993-1997 convertibles, but maybe they mean they don't without ANY modification (hammering, lip rolling)?

"AFS Corvette Wheels ZR-1 style 17 x11 Camaro Black

ITEM DESCRIPTION: This is a combination set of four new BLACK replica ZR-1 style rims with center caps. Please note these are not blemished wheels. This set has the new wider outer lip cut, giving them an updated look. There is NO RESERVE on this auction. Please see the pictures below.

WHAT THEY WILL FIT: They will fit '88 through '96 Corvette. They will also fit 1993 through 2003 Camaro/Firebird or Trans Am. They will not fit the '93-'97 Camaro, Firebird or TransAm 'Convertible'.

SIZE AND SPECIFICATIONS: There are two 17" x 9.5" (+56mm offset with 7.4" backspacing) rims for the front and two 17" x 11" (+50mm offset/7.93" backspacing) for the rear. These are the same as the Grand Sport offsets. The lug pattern is 5x120.65mm."

I addition to the information in this Ad, Tomz Wheelz would not give me a definite confirmation that the 11s (+50) would fit my car either.

Hopefully, you can understand my lack of clarity on this issue?

they say the same thing about LS1s... and it's BS.
Heck, GM even did not make the 17s available in 1998 on the convertibles... the SS had 16x8 ZR1 wheels.
    It will fit.

I have a lowered 2000 Formula. I'm putting 17x11 315/35 in the rear. Will I have to hammer the fender well and grind the bump stop as well?

Blackwidow99... I have a 2002 WS6 with stock suspension and I am considering Torq Thrust Ms in the rear 17x10.5 (44mm offset) with 315-35-17s (possibly BFG KDWs). Do you think I would be able to fit them without hammering the wheel wheel or grinding the bumpstop? I would like to avoid doing that if possible. Thanks!
