Lol mmk dude. You must have some sort of super track you're runnin at then. 'round here stock GTPs have a hard time breaking 15.3s, let alone 14.8.

Red- 2000 Trans Am
Nah man you just gotta know how to launch, the car in 1st TCS off gas and brake until about 2100 rpm, release brake gas around 3/4 down then to the floor, belive me we used to race my friends GTP every weekend and we almost never lost to a mid 90s GT. Ive been in GTs when they have lost to GTPs.

Nah my moms was an 02 it was mainly cause she really did know how to launch the car but she never was gaining, kinda just jumped about a car off the line and thats about where it stayed the GTP probably pulled about anotehr half a car by the end, they only went up to 70-80. Like i said though the GTP can take Pre 99s. After 99 it looses by about 1 car to 1/2 a car length.

....you said in your previous post your mom lost by a carlength. Thats what i was arguing. A GT should only pull a car off a GTP, but by no means lose to one.

a 99-00 GT could possibly get beaten depending on driver, but an 01 and up is almost gauranteed to beat a GTP regardless of the driver. They upgraded a few things in the 01 models, including the transmission. But i agree, they are in the same ballpark.

Yup, and there wasnt any convenience items like back seats, AC, or radio. It made 300hp and around 350tq but were high 13/low 14s cars which was only slightly faster than the 96 cobra when they changed to modular dohc 281s.

B2300 (Fluffy) Retired- Plain-Jane Dodge Truck
In 1995 (when some of you weren't even 10 years old), the Cobra R was a fast car. Very limited, and very expensive, but also very fast. By the time the LS1 came around 3 years later.....not so much.
It is now highly sought after.
