A 2003/2004 Mach 1 has a 4V 4.6, similar to 99/01 Cobra motors, but with some signficant differences. They are also live axle cars, making them better for drag racing (in stock trim) than a 99/01 Cobra.
Stock, they are a pretty good run for an LS1. They typically leave a bit harder (gearing), but the LS1 has more power, and will pull better up top, thus 1/4 mile times are usually pretty close (small advantage to the LS1, especially 01/02 versions).
Absolute quickest bone stock Mach 1 that I know of went 13.09. Most run mid 13s, some worse, a few better (driver, air, track, etc).

yep, which will probably make quite the debate. having a bottle of Nitrous Oxide to shoot into your car just for races seems kinda like a cheat compared to having a Turbo or a Supercharger on your car, which is always on there and ready to go. I'm not bashing the guys that use it, but if I won a race just because I used Nitrous, I wouldn't really feel like I won. that's just me tho

but, if you won a race using a supercharger or turbo, it's ok?? i really don't see the reasoning. a win is a win, no matter how it gets done. forced induction is forced induction. nitrous, supercharger, and turbochargers force more air into the chambers. the only difference with nitrous is the wonderful intercooler included with it.
just because it's a power boost that you can use whenever you want, doesn't make it cheating. that's the benefit.

I suppose, but I still lean more towards the turbos and s/c, nitrous isn't my thing. I think Fast and the Furious ruined it for me. hahaha

if it's not your preference, that's one thing. but to call it cheating is really lame.

ya it's cool, I'm not out to start any arguments, to each their own. If they guy with the Mustang does get nitrous and beats me, I'd still give him 20 bucks, and maybe another 20 to get his car washed. I don't wanna wash his car. hahaha

stock machs run like he said usually mid to low 13s, but a few have dipped .into the 12s stock. mine ran a 13.5 stock.

If this guy truly thinks his gt can beat you, suggest to go on pinks. Then they can give him the five car lengths he'll need to beat you. Plus then he can watch his pathetic mustang sell on ebay for jackshat.

LOL. I read some of these comments, and I sometimes wonder if we're on an automotive forum or in a Jr High School chat room.
