technically... you should feel slower... since now you are getting worse traction...

well, once it catches (i have goodyear eagle F1s that are pretty much brand new so it can be found if i want it) but I should have also mentioned that i lpf the type R's so that the top end comes from the front and low end from the back.

Even if they fit, you would get WORSE bass response than if they were in the stock side pillar. There is no breathing room for these woofers in the door, plus everything in the door will vibrate... causing a lot of noise and aggrivation...

I just wanted to say that I bought eu-700s a few years back, but I originally installed them with an inadequate spacer and it vibrated and sounded terrible. Instead of doing it right, I just bought some more stock woofers. Last week I lost another stocker, and I remembered this writeup, and my friend had some 1/2" foam board. I mounted them, using the stock amp, and they sound unbelievably amazing. No rattles, just perfection. One thing that surprised me was that they receive their signal from the front channels. Up until this time, I could have sworn that they got it from the rear. I ended up passing them at 50hz+, since my deck isn't expecting this kind of speaker in the front. If I spike my eq at 50-80hz, I would hardly miss my two eD 12s. Everything blends so much better, and I love having less rattles.

Bottom line, it's worth it, and the newer version supposedly fits even better. I have another nINE.4 to run these, and some future rear components. I'm still rather impressed with the stock amp, even though people dog on them left and right...

Did you get the actual eu-700 though? I think the new model has always cost more. It also fits much better and is more efficient.

    yup, the eu 700.

explain fits better? does it have better clearance in the front/back of the speaker for our location? b/c i rember having to use foamcore as a spacer/insulation around the eu700 and that made the speaker rest on the grille.

The 'new' model has no clearance issues. They also moved the terminals.. They had them in a terrible location. I am still runnion my eu with foam on stock amp... Sounds good, even though the other speakers in the car are amp'd.
