Pinion shaft/spacer
Does the pinion shaft/spacer matter which way it goes in? Does the hole shown in the picture go towards the top or bottom?

I believe there is only one way for this piece to go in due to the openings on either side. It's been a while since I had to do this when replacing my axles.

I have put it in both ways and it seats and the locking pin goes in both ways. Wish I paid more attention when I pulled it out.
