My exhaust hangers are beginning to fail. The little rubber piece is tearing and, if I remember correctly, the weld on the hook is also failing (will have to double check in the morning).

I am thinking about buying the rubber hangers and replacing them, but wanted to check to see whether there were any better ideas out there.

Is there a more permanent solution, or perhaps one that wouldn't require welding? Also, my muffler is due to be replaced, but it's going to have to wait a while (because... bills). Whatever I go with will have to be compatible with a muffler replacement.

Anything else to look for while under the car?

Okay, so just checked under the car. The welds are in good shape. Just gonna need the rubber doohickies to hang the exhaust. Anything I need to know before I get started? Or is it just jack up the car, pop the old one off and new one on?

Maybe use so WD40 to ease the new stuff on. Wear Safety Glasses too, shit always falls in the eyes.

Check. I almost had that happen with my fuel filter a while back... had the glasses on, thank goodness... just wish I'd had a mouth cover, too!
