By the looks of the car, they were probably hot-rodding and lost control and are trying to blame the accident on someone else.

Kids will be kids. In the end, all that matters is they are OK.

For the record, I'm not trying to be a dick here. I am just pointing out what I see as the obvious based on the info here.
I was waiting for someone to say it
Not saying the ops son is a liar but the possibility is always there and from the information given it brings up suspicions.

I loathe that cluster. 16 mile is faster for me. Even 8 mile depending on where I'm going.

Sometimes only as safe as the driver.

Let alone the drivers around you.

I'll be the first to say it, NO, Camaro's are NOT as safe as other cars.

They are RWD....which means they don't handle as good in the rain or snow.

More power = more dangerous, especially when a young kid is behind the wheel with little to no driving experience with that kind of power.

    That's pretty much commonsense.

    Sorry, sometimes the truth hurts.

As far as crash tests camaros and trans am have pretty good ratings. 3.5/5 iirc the torque of a v8 can make it a handful being rwd and all but lets face it you get any car in the rain thats rwd and a v8, crown vic, caprice etc theyre all going to have very similiar traction issues as long as he was safe in this one. he should be old enough to decide what he wants.
