2007 Cadillac Escalade- 98 Camaro SS, 09 G8 GT
Awesome write up. I plan on buying the same exact trans in the next month or so but I'll be using my Vig 3600.

2007 Cadillac Escalade- 98 Camaro SS, 09 G8 GT
Yes sir. I just did a h/c/i install at the end of last season and tried to run it but the trans didn't like the new power and just slipped. My brother in law actually has their level 2 4L70e in his 07 TBSS with a yank 3500 and loves it. I'm only 2 hours away from them in NY so I'll probably make the trip over there as well.

You got that. Either have a fast car or have no friends.....lol
I was hoping to stay close to you. Doubt that is going to happen now.
I am betting with good air and traction you get under 12.3. If so I win free representation if I ever snap someones neck. hahaha
Love your car. One of cleanest cars out there guys. It is white glove material.

PerfomaBuilt 4L60E Level 2
Jeff (?)
I'm interested in hearing your impressions on the PerformaBuilt 4L60E Level 2 you've recently installed. I have a 95 Chevrolet Impala SS with an LT1, pretty much stock (except for suspension and brakes). I've looked at several different transmission providers and was favorably impressed with PerformaBuilt for the same reasons you were. I was also looking at the Level 2. I don't intend to race my car (except for the odd Beemer on the highway), but I will upgrade the the drivetrain, starting with the transmission.
I've read many good things about PerformaBuilt, as well as one scathing poster on the Michigan FBody Association forum. I'm not in a position to question his statements or expertise, not being much of a mechanic.
Specifically, I'd like to hear your impressions on reliability and performance. I will likely make a decision and purchase by the end of November. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for your time.
Joseph

So far it has all been good. We've put a few hundred street miles on the car and it has been to the track once. Unfortunately, we picked a day that was about 100 degrees with high humidity so none of the cars ran very well. We're heading back next weekend and are hoping for some nice cool and dry air. I have to get my lauch rpm figured out still with the new stall too. Other than the fact of the stall and the lockup hit, I don't notice much of a difference driving the car on the street. When I put my foot into it, she seems to bang the gears good and does exactly what Performabuilt said it would.

Nice post! Thanks for taking the time to post this up, it will help people down the road with buying a great transmission.
I have a Level II in my Z-28, they installed it back in 2006 or 2007 at their old shop, the trans has about 12,000 miles on it and is still running great. My car is just a weekend toy and I don`t race it at the track, but I do have fun with it.
In the past there have been a few competitors who really tried to go after Performabuilt and were totally unprofessional, Frank and Performabuilt never sunk to their level and that really shows what a high quality company is all about.
They are a great company to do business with!!

I am saying ALL Monte Carlo's were FWD from 1995 to 2007, reguardless or designation or engine..
V6's are 3.1, 3.4ohv, 3.4 DOHC(LQ1), 3800, 3800sc, and the lone v8 5.3, all FWD's..
GM also stole the "Z34" from the early Monte's replacement (z34 Lumina) since the monte was just a rebadged Lumina for a while..Last edited by Smittro; 12-21-2011 at 01:02 PM.

They had a V8 with front wheel drive? I thought cadillac's were the only ones that did that.
