Black/ Silver- 98 TA WS6/ 01 C5 Corvette
Finally was able to get the drivers side motor mount in. The bottom is threaded, all I need to do now is line up the top and thread them in. Then tighten down all the bolts!

Good work. If at first you don't succeed... apply more force.

I am not sure how I am going to get them to line up though. The holes on the mount that mounts to the engine are further back than the holes in the block. How does one push the engine back? I am guessing a pry bar but I am not exactly sure on how to pry it.....

One thing I've notice with the heads & headers off the engine mounts look very easy to get at.

Looked at the rims peaking out from under the cover, made sure the charger was still plugged in and sighed because spring isn't here yet...

I was first going to ask where you are...but I see your in my Mom's bedroom lol
I shopped around...first found SafeLite for 285.00. A local place for 272.00, 370.00 and then 185.00 to 225.00. The place I'm going to Merrillville Auto Glass seems to be the cheapest.Our problem is the trim, 95% of the time it will need to be replaced. If he can work with it and try to save my trim my cost is 185.00 if not 225.00. The windshield itself I was told only cost 75.00.
So do yourself a favor and shop around. Try to find a place that does glass, not "Joe's Auto Shop". Glass is glass, It's all in how they seal it. Find someone who knows how to do it rather then some random auto shop that says "I can do it"Last edited by Nutball; 02-25-2013 at 12:23 PM.

Picked up my car today. New windshield, 192.00. And will finish installing strut tower brace. Which is how I broke my windshield to begin with
Replaced stock fog lights w/ 6K HID's. Been a busy day/week here.
Changing all rotors to slotted/cross drilled tomorrow. Would love to do more but, money and weather are stopping me. Come springtime....I hope to have my wish list complete.Last edited by Nutball; 02-26-2013 at 07:39 PM.

Nope....Merrillville Auto Glass on Mississippi. I didn't think 192.00 was all that bad. They also replaced the trim. So the glass cost 80.00, the trim kit was 20.00. 80.00 in labor and 7.00 in tax. If Broadway can beat that, I can't see them doing it for much less. But I will call them today just to fulfill my curiosity.
Thanks for that info 35th. My daughter needs hers replaced too (she just told me hers is broken) so I will be calling them as soon as they open today.

Just called them....185.00 +tax. So roughly the same. As for my daughters. 159.00 +tax (01 Grand Am). I will be seeing them sometime today to have my windows tinted.

Paying to replace a windshield...? Do you not have full coverage that covers glass? I haven't had an issue ever getting mine replaced for the $50 deductible even when it was something I did!

If that is your comprehensive deductible then I am sorry! Knock your comprehensive down to $50 or $100. I have a windshield replaced about once a year on my truck since the roads in Northern Michigan suck in the winter! It shouldn't add but a couple of dollars to drop your comp down. Off my soap box, moving on...
Comprehensive = vandalism, glass etc
Collision = Accident where body and mechanical damages are incurred.Last edited by bhunter0830; 03-01-2013 at 01:45 AM.
