Navy Blue Metallic- 98 T/A w/ mods, 00 FBVert
Well I was allowed to test fit the wheels and mount the tires. I can wait a few more days.
Besides all the tracks in my area are closed till January. If I was to mount them I'd be tempted to find a nice stretch of payment to "test" them

I'm starting to take bets on what breaks first with them.
1) - Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets
2) - Diff clutch packs wear out
3) ???
It's going to be interesting. Drive line is solid from the engine to the diff with the diff being the only thing stock. The gears and clutch packs were upgraded but still nothing like having a Wavetrac.

Had a lengthy phone call with the paintshop who will probably paint the sail panel for me today...
They do work on Maserati's and Ferraris so should be ok!
Interestingly he said he would not use the more up to date water based but use a solvent paint as
the water based uses a different type of flake and will not look like the solvent based finish that is on
these cars?? He will get the paint rep in with his fancy spectro gun thingy to "read" my paint and get it
to a good match.
In reading up on the paint code from various google results it seems pewter is a real pain to match and
can have many shades to it? Great!!
Finished prepping it today so off to be painted in the new year. He quoted about £350 which to you guys
is weighing in at around $440 But.... i want this finished up to a quality rather than down to a price!!

After a conversation with the wife I got to start researching roll cage options. Apparently the drop top and interstate commute plus the deer commuting suicide on my hood has her worried about my safety so I figure...might be a win win. I get what I been wanting and she thinks it’s it’s a safety expense.

Let me know what you find. I've been thinking the same thing for my 00 Vert as well. The plan is for it to be my daughters 1st car. But I want it safe as possible as well too. I've looked at Wolf cages in the past. Not needing a 6pt, just something like a roll bar would be fine for it.
I still need to get the top replaced on it and figure out a couple of issues.

Keep looking at the Wolfe 6 point myself, but debating if I want to really modify the car with a cage. Not really any going back after that.

Wolf 6 point if I get that fast for the Trans Am.
I'm truly amazed a roll bar was not an option for these cars.

I would be fine with a 4 point, but figure if doing, go the extra for the minimal expense and effort on install vs maybe wanting to add later.
You would think someone had a nice simple rollbar by now.

With the Wolf cage I would do the low swing out door bars. That way I can take them out when cruising and install when at the track. I'm never going to get into single digits so the need for it to be solid welded in is not critical for me.

Now Scott... that's not exactly true. Your car could easily go in the single digits between catastrophic failures.

Drove my 30th Ann. Ed. ws6 Tr/Am tonight, after a month of Holiday sitting. Fun get to know her again ride, BUT, after 19 years, the plastic seat belt guide screwed into the head-rest snapped in the cold air. Any sites where I can pick up a grey or black plastic one ? Thanks LS1 gents & 4th gen. gals !

I am thinking to use some double-sided tape along bottom of my window edge to adhere to vert top until I can get a new panel.

It sure as hell is different then a t top for sure. I took lots of pics. No major surprises just need a mask for all the dirt on the tops. Nasty doesn't describe it enough. Was able to vacuum out a lot of debre that sneaks into corners and hard to reach spots easily once the top was off. I know it was replaced once before because some nuts and a couple of bolts and screws were missing. So I got some stuff to look for.
