I have to say that having a new transmission makes the car feel well new. I'm extremely happy with what Tick Performance did on my M6.

I'm looking forward to it. Now, if I can just narrow down that ungodly squeak I've developed somewhere around the rear/B-pillar area...

Not sure exactly where to post? Anyway, I'm new...I have a 1999 30th(crashed), 2000 Firehawk, and just got an eBay car. 2001 Trans Am. Many of you have probably seen it there. It's a project. LS7(supposed SLP), LS3 heads, GM intake, unknown custom TB, Linger MAF, ceramic headers, fast fuel rails, 75lbs injectors, Electric water pump, Be cool rad, electric oil cooler, MSD ignition system, IDA power module, TCI 6x trans, Moser rear end, All BMR subframes, braces and undercarriage, roll cage, harnesses, Coil overs, and Wilwood forged brakes. C6 Z06 wheels, She's cool but came from Florida and is not running great in Denver. Needs tuning!!!! She's not bad. It's cool here right now but she''ll light em up at 30mph. Can't wait till she's running right. Currently I call her Carrie!!!!(she's temperamental))

Yeah, I'm slowly figuring her out. IDA put the engine in and at that time downloaders and re-flash programming weren't available. So they used the perfect power program module. I think the interface is messing up the TCI trans. I'm gonna take that out and do a HP tune. Curious reading several enthusiats don't like MSD. Well this car has no miles and already 3 coils are bad. One for sure when I got her and 2 more have failed in 400 miles. Not impressed. Looking for truck coils now. The roads in Golden are cold and she runs about 14% rich but still lights the tires at 35. WOOOOOO she gonna be fun. DAMN F-bodies!!!! Like middle age crack. Nothing makes my heart beat like pushing ya back in seat!!!! Thanks!!!

Go with the Truck coils, to get the full benefit of them you need to make an adjustment to the DIM tables (I think that's right). A tuner should know what I'm referring to.

Thanks!! Yup truck coils. She is super temperamental!! The trans is acting nuts too. I'll get her figured out. So how much benefit do think tuning on a dyne is??? Also she has c6z06 wheels. What tire sizes do you guys run?? And how much height difference do think front to rear to avoid abs issues?? Thanks again!!!Anybody out there is the Golden area???

Find out what that throttle body is, there was a guy in my area that did a LS7 swap, and had drivability problems, and it ended up coming down to the design of the throttle body, wasn’t sealing all the way, and the throttle blade wouldn’t open/close all the way and the TPS readings would never give him WOT or total idle maps.

Researching a lil drop for it. Thinking 1-1.25 springs with some basic shocks. Its just a DD for awhile so its definitely a budget setup.

    Fellow vert owner here.

I will say that for daily driving, my preference is the following set up:

    SFCs

    Stock Springs (stock ride height)

Koni Yellow shocks (kinda expensive... in the neighborhood of $1600 for the full set)

Sway Bars (I went with Strano's hollow sway bars... some solid ones would be stiffer, but are heavier and the sway bars are unsprung weight, so I wanted to keep that to a minimum).

The car rides so nice like that.

If you are dead set on lowering it, I can tell you that Strano's springs are a nice set up. They may take you a few days to get used to, but once you do the car feels a lot more expensive than it actually is, if that makes any sense.

Also, if I had it to do over again, I'd go with a higher ride height than the Stranos: I might go with a mere .5 to .75" lowering.

In fact, if I had a stock F-Body to do a fresh project on, I'd go straight for some KW V3 coil overs and never look back. Hindsight is 20/20, after all.

Already did SFC. I have no issues with current setup other than a desire for the car to be lower. Purely aesthetics honestly. Will be some springs and basic replacement shock/strut. I cant justify 1500-2000 in suspension for a commuter ride. I just want a little look as the ride on my daily interstate is nice and smooth. I appreciate the input though.

Today I drove it into work again and brought the new shifter knob I may put on at lunch if I get a chance, but being Friday I am not sure if it will work out.

Getting ready to drop new heads into the car and button up the new top end. Once that's all done I have to reinstall the blower, piping, and modify the coil relocation brackets to fit in a new location. Hopefully will be able to hit the dyno at the end of the month!

    Ah, I see.

I tend to think the opposite way: the more I drive the car, the more it's justified to spend some money, since I'll be enjoying those parts every day, rather than a couple times a month.
